Workshops

Cleansing Rejuvenation for the Fall

Sunday, October 15, 2017
4:15-5:45
at Rhythms

Join us for a workshop focused on taking care of you during this seasonal transition using Ayurvedic principles and essential oils.

As the fall season is upon us, our bodies are replicating the environmental changes you see before you. Where leaves are changing to brilliant fiery red, our bodies are balancing the fiery summer heat we leave behind with the colder shift to come. The practice of Ayurveda pays tribute to these swirling energies and teaches us how to embrace the reorganization that is taking place physically, mentally and emotionally within us.

In our workshop we will demonstrate just some of the Ayurvedic principles that help you detoxify and reinvigorate yourselves in this delicate time of year. We will share:

  • Basic things to do for a simple at home cleanse to manage these energies
  • Foods to embrace and which ones to limit
  • Essential oils that support your process of cleansing and rejuvenation
  • Emotional signals to notice and balance

Yoga for Healthy Bones

with Regina Burgio

Sunday, September 17, 2017
4:15-5:45
Rhythms

Recent studies have shown that yoga is one of the safest preventative measures and treatments for low bone mass, a condition that affects half of everyone over the age of 50. If you have osteopenia, osteoporosis or are just interested in strengthening your bones, then this yoga workshop is for you.

Learn safe poses and exercises that improve posture, balance, and strength as well as movements that are contraindicated. Breath work and relaxation will also be incorporated. Leave feeling relaxed, empowered and standing taller!

This workshop is also ideal for anyone who is feeling the negative effects of technology on their body and mind. Hunching over mobile devices and office desks can lead to a host of muscular and spinal issues.

All levels and ages welcome. Appropriate for those new to yoga or for anyone who wants to learn ways to adapt their current practice. Chairs and props will be available.

As always, please consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program.
