We promote wellness through our activities like yoga, meditation, hiking, eating and laughter. What makes us unique is our commitment to compassionate awareness and meeting people where they are – emotionally, spiritually and physically – both on and off the yoga mat. We are not about a singular place but instead carry with us this commitment to ourselves and our members. We provide an affordable means to take care of ourselves and each other.
Our Beginning
The BKC was formed in 1992, as many members of the Kripalu ashram in Stockbridge began to move into the local community. The BKC was, to many, a bridge to Kripalu Center and the Swami’s teachings and a way for members to maintain the deep relationships that were formed at the ashram. Our mission continues to reflect Swami Kripalu’s teachings by offering programming that promotes wellness and the opportunity to share our journeys on and off the mat.
We are a 501c(3) non-profit that is run by volunteers. Membership fees are tax deductible. Our goal is to welcome people in the Berkshire County and its’ environs a place to practice among friends, and opportunities to grow those connections in less structured settings such as hikes, monthly potluck dinners, and other activities.
